Welcome to Bittersweet Barn, a family-owned farm nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Established in 2023, our mission is to raise healthy, well-tended animals while continually improving and growing our farm. We proudly raise ADGA-registered Nigerian Dwarf goats, AKKPS-registered KuneKune pigs, and a diverse flock of poultry. Recently, we have also welcomed a pair of British White cattle, and we look forward to offering calves as our herd grows.
At present, we provide registered livestock for purchase, pasture-raised chicken eggs, raw goat milk (for animal consumption), and handcrafted goat milk products, with plans to expand our selections in the years ahead. At Bittersweet Barn, we believe in quality, care, and connection - to our animals, our land, and the community we serve.
Our Nigerian Dwarf goats are proudly registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA), and we are dedicated to producing quality dairy animals that truly perform in the milk pail. We currently participate in DHIA milk testing and linear appraisal to evaluate and improve our herd. Our herd undergoes annual biosecurity testing, with consistently negative results.

The majority of our Kunekune pigs are registered with the American KuneKune Pig Society (AKKPS), although we also maintain a few unregistered pigs. Our pigs are raised with attention to their health and happiness, enjoying a balanced diet of grain and hay. They receive regular deworming and routine health care, and we prioritize creating an environment where they can express natural behaviors, socialize, and thrive. Their well-being is at the heart of our farm, and we take pride in raising pigs that are both healthy and content.
